Basic Medic First Aid Initial Training:

Course Summary: The Basic Medic First Aid training course is certified by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. It is conducted by certified instructors and uses training equipment and materials published or accepted by Occupational Safety and Health Act and Washington (State) Industrial Safety and Health Act. This course covers primary and secondary care with emphasis on Emergency Medical Service response time of eight minutes. This course follows EMP America, Inc. guidelines. Course materials are presented through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice. Upon completion of this course, students will receive a wall certificate and a wallet-size first aid card valid for two years. The course retrain frequency is 24 months.
Target Audience: Those personnel who are responsible for a group of workers and anyone interested in performing basic first aid.
Course Prerequisites: There are no course prerequisites.
Course Evaluation: Students must satisfactorily complete a practical evaluation to receive course credit.
Course Length: 8 hours
Course Frequency: 6 times each quarter and upon request
