Work Planning Team Lead Training

Course Summary:
The ISMS Work Planning Team Lead Training describes the purpose, basis, objectives and goals of the Department of EnergyÕs (DOE) Integrated Safety Management System as it relates to work planning, procedure and plan development and review and implementation of work at DOE site facilities. This training is especially effective for craft, operations, safety and health professionals, and managers involved in the actual planning of work activities within their organization. Using an interactive team setting, the following topics are covered:

Basis and purpose of ISMS System
ISMS Guiding Principles
Core Functions, Roles and Responsibilities, Job Hazard Analysis
Expectations, Gap Analysis and Contractual Obligations
Importance of the Team Approach/Worker Involvement
Authorization Envelope, Operations Authority and Hazard Controls
Relationship of Risk and Complexity in the Graded Approach to ISMS
Introduction of the ISMS Automated Job Hazard Analysis Tool
Participation in actual work planning process scenario to reinforce ISMS
Core functions, teamwork and guiding principles.

Target Audience:
This course is intended for work planning teams including craft, operations, safety and health professionals, planners, engineers, and management.

ISMS Performance Demonstration Review

Course Length:
Up to 8 hours, but may be less depending upon composition of facility teams, scope of work. Practical application exercises including the work planning team scenarios and
