Course Summary: The On-Site Responders Case Simulation course provides essential in depth training needed for On-Site Responder (OSR) personnel to ensure they effectively manage that critical period of time from the onset of an event or an attack until the arrival of the uniformed first responders. The two day course includes the following topics:

Terrorism definition and history

Terrorist organizations

Location of USA terrorist attacks

Types and mind set

Recognition of warning signs

Types of harm/injuries expected

Responsibilities - threat received, after attack

Information needed by uniformed first responders

Keys to self/staff protection

Option thinking under duress

Create control zones

Incident command structure

Incidental information collection

Overview of biological, chemical agents and incendiary devices

Decontamination

Triage overview

Topographical, meteorological, geographical factors

High rise buildings

Protect in place vs. evacuation

Evacuating population

Redundant security

Potential target assessment
Target Audience: On-Site Responders (OSR) are those people who are directly affected by an event or an attack. They encompass a broad spectrum of personnel including fire safety directors, corporate security directors, division vice presidents, building managers or building emergency directors.
Course Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites.
Course Evaluation: Class discussions and case simulation exercises will be used to measure student mastery of the training objectives.
Course Length: 2 day (16 hours)
